The One-Way Gallery will be reserved for members of the LAC and will be available to be seen in person at this gallery, and online in the 'AIFS Online Galleries' at langleyarts.ca. Each member will be invited to showcase their work at the One Way Gallery, with the first set of artists being showcased in October.

This new space is located at  #104-20611 Fraser Highway Langley, BC V3A 4G4. Their hours of operation are 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday to Friday.

The First Exhibition will be showcased from October 18th -  February 10th, 2022.

Deadline October 1st, 2021

Guidelines

 Artists must be a member of the Langley Arts Council at the time of their install, and for the duration of their exhibition.

 Please note, this space can only accommodate artworks that can be hung on a wall. 3D will be accepted for this space, as long as they fit the hanging requirements below.

 There is no theme for these exhibitions. Artists are invited to submit three artworks for consideration. The LAC will choose only one artwork to be displayed by each member at a time.

 All artworks must be original, no prints, please.

 All artworks must be for sale, and any sales that take place during the duration of the exhibition must be facilitated through the LAC.

 If an artwork is sold, the artist will be invited to bring in a new artwork similar in size to replace the sold artwork. The LAC will facilitate this exchange of artworks.

 Please note the LAC would like to showcase every artist, so once you have exhibited with the LAC, priority will be given to artists who have not yet showcased their work in this space.

 Please ensure your work follows the LAC's definition of an 'Original Artwork'

Original artwork is created at the hand of the artist who is submitting the work. The creation process must be the effort of a single individual to convey their own personal interpretation of an image or multiple images. Submitting artists are allowed to use reference photos to inspire their work, but artists must use their own design and composition for the final artwork to be considered original.

 All artwork must be suitably prepared for display. Artworks must be appropriately framed or stretched with finished sides and properly wired for hanging, using d-hooks and wire. The D hooks should be 4” from the top of the frame or 1/3 of the height of the frame. The stretched wire should be 2” below the top of the frame. For 3D artworks, please ensure your work can be hung using D hooks 4" from the top of the piece or 1/3 of the frame and has a stretched wire 2" from the top of the artwork.

The Langley Arts Council reserves the right to refuse any piece. Work not properly prepared may not be exhibited (consult with the LAC regarding any questions or special considerations before exhibition).

Artwork that will not be accepted
Artworks submitted to the Langley Arts Council must not have been created in an art class, lesson, or paint night.
