Langley City unveils a NEW TWO-DAY Magic of Christmas Festival

Langley City, BC – The City of Langley’s Magic of Christmas Festival Committee is excited to announce a new two-day Christmas festival that will be held on Saturday, December 3 from 12:00 pm (noon) to 8:00 pm, and Sunday, December 4 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Timms Community Centre, 20399 Douglas Crescent.


“While we will miss the former event, this brand-new rain or shine event will provide fun and entertainment for all ages over a two-day period”, said Magic of Christmas Committee Chair, Councillor Paul Albrecht. “I believe this new and reimagined festival will exceed the former event in many ways, I can’t wait to see all of you there.”


The Magic of Christmas Festival will feature Christmas crafts for kids and adults including ornament and wreath-making workshops, a letter to Santa booth, live ice carving and snow sculptures, a beer garden, food trucks, visits from Santa Claus, and musical acts and performers throughout both days.

The Langley Arts Council will be holding an Artisan Craft Market with over 40-holiday arts and crafts vendors participating from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday, and 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Sunday. The Downtown Langley Business Association will be drawing $500 downtown dollars each day so make sure you drop by and enter!


The Committee is thrilled to offer this new two-day event in place of the former parade which had experienced some ongoing challenges over the past few years including: increased safety concerns for participants and spectators along narrow roads on the parade route; an escalation in costs relative to traffic control due to WorkSafeBC regulations; and, a reduced number of parade float entries.


The City of Langley will also be launching the second annual Holiday Lights Scavenger Hunt at the festival. The scavenger hunt will be available online following the event throughout the holiday season for everyone to download and participate at their convenience.
