Sustainability Grant Pilot Program Grant awarded to the Langley Arts Council

In June 2022, the Langley Arts Council was awarded $1,984.00 from the Township of Langley's Sustainability Pilot Grant. With this funding the Arts Council was able to present free reduce, reuse, and recycle programming to youth aged 4 – 14 who reside in the Township of Langley. This programming focused on sustainability through arts and cultural programming. These classes used commonly used and thrown away materials and recycled them into unique pieces of art. This programming encouraged the local youth to re-envision materials for new and creative usage before throwing them away. Classes were held at the Aldergrove Kinsmen Community Centre (the home of the Langley Arts Council) taught by professional artists, and provided free afterschool and weekend activities.
