Vendor Call - Cultural Marketplace

The Langley Arts Council invites local artisans, artists, makers, and small business owners to participate in our Celebration of Culture - Cultural Marketplace. This vibrant event will showcase the unique, handcrafted products and cultural treasures that reflect the diversity of our community.

This is an opportunity to share your goods, stories, and artistry with a broad audience, celebrating the rich cultural fabric that makes our community so special. Whether you’re a creator of art, food, jewelry, textiles, or unique cultural goods, we want to invite you to be a part of this exciting event!

We are looking for:

  • Cultural and handmade arts: Paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, textiles, crafts, and more
  • Cultural foods: Ethnic cuisine, snacks, and traditional recipes
  • Unique goods and souvenirs: Artifacts, clothing, and other products that reflect different cultures and traditions

Booth Size 10' x 6'

Member Rate – $50

Non-Member Rate -$60


Booth Size 10' x 10' (includes a table)

Member Rate – $70

Non-Member Rate -$80.

Acceptance Criteria:

- All products must be at least 75% handmade, handcrafted art and craft by the artisan.

- Your submission will be evaluated based on quality, cultural relevance, originality, craftsmanship, authenticity, durability, and adherence to cultural sensitivity.

- Please note, space is limited for the Cultural Artisan Market, not all applications will be accepted to participate.


Insurance

The LAC insurance will not cover artists for the Cultural Artisan Market, artists must supply their own insurance.


Mandatory Requirements:

 All tables must be covered and skirted to the floor

 No personal heaters are allowed, dress in layers to avoid getting cold.

 No pets allowed.

 UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL VENDORS BE ALLOWED TO MOVE THEIR BOOTH SPACE, which is assigned prior to arrival.

 No canopies, no exceptions.

 Tabletop displays must not be over 4 ft. tall.

 Be sure to have your permit from your local Health Department on hand, should you be selling food items.

 Vendors selling food products may give out FREE samples only. Charging for samples will not be permitted.

 Vendor security tags (2) will be provided upon arrival. They must be worn at all times during setup and for the duration of the market. Lanyards will be picked up before take-down.

 If you would like to have a free-standing grid wall in your booth. Please select the outside wall or corner booth option. Please note, that these grid walls cannot be attached to the gym walls in any way.


Please note: There are minimal outlets available for this event. If you need an outlet, please check the box for 'outside wall - outlet needed' in the application below. Please note, that we may not be able to fulfill every request for a power source.


Market Sales

- The LAC will not be collecting a commission on any artwork sales.

- The LAC and or its volunteers cannot perform a sales transaction on behalf of a vendor.


Payment of Fees

Cultural Artisan Market Fees are paid through the application process. Please use the button below to pay your application fee. If you are having trouble with this process please contact events@langleyarts.ca.


Not Accepted and Refunds

If you are not accepted to the Cultural Artisan Market, you will receive a refund once the adjudication process has taken place. A $10 adjudication fee will be taken at the time of the refund.


Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be received before February 8, 2025, Cancellations after February 8, 2025, will not receive a refund.
